Following a friendly match against the Uzbekistan U21 national team, the head coach of “Andijon” club, Samvel Babayan, shared his thoughts on the preparation process, the team's condition, and the important upcoming matches.
The experienced coach emphasized that this friendly match served as the final examination for the team ahead of a crucial encounter in the AFC Champions League. After the championship concluded, the players were given a short break, and training sessions began as planned on December 5.
— Of course, there were some challenges after the season. Several players were injured, and some joined the preparation late. This made it difficult to form the optimal lineup fully. However, through these matches, we were able to assess our capabilities, — Babayan stated.
The coach notably highlighted his satisfaction with the players' discipline and their execution of the instructions given to them. According to him, the team confirmed this spirit with their solid performance in the last round against “Bunyodkor.”
Samvel Vyacheslavovich announced that the team would head to Qatar tomorrow. There, they will conduct training sessions over four days and prepare for the match against “Al-Ahli” with a concrete plan in place.
— Overall, I am pleased with the preparation process. If all of us approach our tasks professionally and give our best, the results will inevitably follow. The players are ready both physically and mentally, — the coach said.
He also noted a meeting between the team and the regional governor, Shuhratbek Qoshoqboyevich, who provided additional motivation to the players. This, in turn, boosted the team's overall morale.
According to Babayan, “Andijon” will aim to field the most complete and optimal lineup possible for the match scheduled on December 24. The primary goal is to deliver a respectable performance, delight the fans, and return home with a positive result.
