“First of all, I apologize to everyone for today’s result. What can I say? It is very difficult to explain. This situation is happening for the first time in my career. Whatever had to happen, happened. It is just unfortunate that it happened exactly at ‘Andijan’.
Our opponent today was also in a difficult situation. I think we did not start the match badly. We had a number of chances, and we could have used set pieces as well. We tried, but the ball did not go into the goal. We conceded due to mistakes in the wing defense. We conceded two goals, and it is difficult to explain this,” said Babayan.
The specialist said that the team did not start the season badly, but small mistakes in later rounds became costly.
“When I came here, we had beaten ‘Bunyodkor’ away and kept the club in the Super League. The management created all conditions to build the team. We did not make bad transfers. We could not get everyone we wanted, because many players had active contracts. But within our possibilities we strengthened the squad.
We worked actively in training camps, and we also started the season well. Even after a 4:0 victory, I said we are only seeing 60% of this team. That was not a lie. I had not yet seen the full team I wanted,” the coach added.
Babayan also spoke separately about recent defeats.
“Against ‘Qizilqum’ there was a lack of motivation. We also lost against ‘Neftchi’. In the match with ‘Mash’al’ we had a chance to fix the situation. After FIFA days, there were three consecutive defeats.
Against ‘Nasaf’ we lost due to a single serious mistake. Against ‘Navbahor’, at 90+4 minutes the opponent made a substitution to hold a draw, and we lost balance and conceded. Today’s defeat was also unclear,” he said.
The coach especially noted the support of the club leadership, regional governor, and fans.
“Whatever requirements were set, the club fulfilled everything. I came here with good intentions, to improve the best result in ‘Andijan’ history. The players also came with high goals. All conditions for the team were created.
Honestly speaking, I will say it like a man: I can no longer continue working here. I will hand over the club management to someone else. I and my coaching staff will resign.
The regional governor created all conditions and is working tirelessly for results. Everything is being done for the club to achieve high results. Big work is also being done for the development of Uzbek football. We worked day and night. Even if there were 25 hours in a day, we were ready to work. Unfortunately, our efforts did not work out. That means something needs to be changed,” said Babayan.
