Chinkvini: Safonov Single-Handedly Defeats Flamengo

Former manager of Zenit and the Russian national team, Oreste Cinquini, praised Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Matvei Safonov's performance in the match against Flamengo. PSG defeated the Brazilian side in a penalty shootout in the final of the Intercontinental Cup.

In that game, Safonov saved four shots, securing victory for his team. The expert called Safonov a high-caliber goalkeeper and described his display against Flamengo as fantastic.

"Yes, he is a good goalkeeper, but penalty shootouts are unpredictable: sometimes everything works perfectly, and sometimes not as much. Nevertheless, it can be said that Matvei single-handedly defeated Flamengo," Cinquini's comments were quoted by "RB Sport."

The Intercontinental Cup became Safonov's sixth trophy with PSG. The Russian footballer has been playing for the French giants since joining the club last summer.
