Martin Yakubko on Safonov: One Game Does Not Make a Great Goalkeeper

Former Slovak national team player Martin Jakubko commented on PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov’s performance in the Intercontinental Cup match against Brazil's “Flamengo.” “A single result doesn't make anyone a great goalkeeper.

Of course, saving four penalties can be considered a miracle. However, it is impossible to draw firm conclusions based on just one game,” Jakubko's remarks were cited by “RB Sport.”

The match between PSG and “Flamengo” ended 1-1 in regular time. In the penalty shootout, the Parisian team was more precise, winning 2-1.

Safonov saved four penalty kicks and was named the best player of the match.
