Former player of St. Petersburg's "Zenit" football club, Vyacheslav Malafeyev, shared his thoughts on the possibility of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov becoming the primary goalkeeper for the French club "PSG". "To become the main goalkeeper at such a strong club, consistent high performance over a long period is necessary.
His future with 'PSG' depends precisely on this," Malafeyev's statement was quoted by "Match TV". In a recent Intercontinental Cup match, the Parisian team faced Brazil's "Flamengo" club.
Regular time ended with a 1-1 draw, but in the penalty shootout, the French team performed more precisely, securing a 2-1 victory. Safonov was named the best player of the match, as he saved four penalty kicks by the Brazilian players during the shootout.
