Barcelona reassures fans after Jules Koundé replacement

Barcelona concluded their 2025 campaign with an away victory. The Catalans defeated Villarreal 2–0 in a La Liga match.

An unfortunate incident occurred late in the second half when defender Jules Koundé was forced off the field. After the match, the French player provided a brief update on his condition in the mixed zone, reassuring Barcelona fans.

In response to journalists' questions about an injury, Koundé replied, "No." When asked if he would be available for the Spanish Super Cup, he answered, "Yes."

Previously, Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick suggested that Koundé might not have a serious injury but only a minor muscle strain or spasm. Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final on January 7.
