Liverpool fan denies charges in racism case

A Liverpool fan is accused of making racist remarks directed at Bournemouth midfielder Anthony Semenyo but has denied the charges, Sky Sports reports.

The incident occurred in August during the first round of the Premier League match between Liverpool and Bournemouth (2-4). During the game, Semenyo was subjected to racist shouts from the stands, forcing the referee to temporarily suspend the match.

According to reports, the insults came from a 47-year-old Liverpool supporter in a wheelchair. The fan was ejected from Anfield Stadium.

Later, the man was arrested by police but was released on bail. He has been banned from attending football stadiums.

At the court hearing, the accused confirmed only his personal details and denied the charges. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for April 22 of next year.
