Rooney names main contenders for Premier League title

Wayne Rooney does not rule Liverpool out of the race for the English Premier League title. However, the former Manchester City forward views other teams as the main contenders for the championship.

«If Liverpool starts a winning streak and secures victories in consecutive matches, they can aggressively get back into the race. I wouldn't count them out, but for me, the two main contenders for the title are Arsenal and Manchester City.

In my opinion, they will pull ahead. Aston Villa is playing brilliantly, but I think the title fight will come down to two teams,» Rooney said on the BBC podcast.

Arsenal currently leads the Premier League, with Manchester City two points behind. Liverpool is in fifth place, trailing the leaders by ten points.
