In the FA Cup third round, Chelsea beat Charlton 5-1 away from home to progress to the next stage. The win was especially significant for the London club as it marked Liam Rosenior’s debut match in charge of Chelsea, and it proved a successful one.
In the first half, Hato scored in the 45+4th minute to put the team ahead. After the break, Adarabioyo doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Goals from Giui (62), Net-u (90+1) and Fernandes (90+4) sealed Chelsea’s emphatic victory.
Myles’ 57th-minute goal highlighted Charlton’s fighting spirit, but it was not enough, as the hosts managed to reduce the deficit only once.
As a result, Liam Rosenior’s debut as Chelsea head coach was a success, and the team moved into the next FA Cup round with renewed momentum.
