Munich Mayor Resigns from Bayern Munich Supervisory Board

Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter has officially resigned from his positions on the "Bayern Munich" Supervisory and Administrative Advisory Boards. This decision was made following strong public backlash over his undisclosed income from the club, as reported by goal.com news says.
In a recent statement, the politician emphasized that maintaining the trust of Munich's residents is his top priority. Although he has been a "Bayern Munich" fan all his life, Reiter stressed that transparency must take precedence over any personal mandates or financial compensation.

The controversy began after it was revealed that Reiter had not informed the city council about his income from Germany's record-breaking club since taking office in 2021. Opposition parties recently demanded a detailed report on his activities and earnings at the club, sparking intense debate.
Reiter revealed that he earned 90,000 euros during his tenure at "Bayern Munich" and that this amount was taxed accordingly. He has now promised to donate the entire sum to various social projects in the city.
The lack of transparency has already impacted his political career. In the mayoral election held last Sunday, Reiter received only 35.6% of the vote, a significant drop compared to his previous results. He is now preparing for the second round of elections against Dominik Krause, which will take place in the coming weeks.
