"Al-Nassr" head coach Jorge Jesus says Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane are expected to return after the upcoming international break. The two forwards missed the team’s 5-0 win over "Al Khaleej" because of minor fitness issues, but the club does not appear to be facing a long-term problem. Reports Goal.com.
After the match, Jesus said Mane had felt pain a few days earlier and the coaching staff chose not to take risks. He added that both stars should be ready once the league resumes in early April, giving "Al-Nassr" a major boost for the title race.
"Al-Nassr" are top of the Saudi Pro League with 67 points, three ahead of "Al Hilal", and Jesus said his side now have eight “finals” left in the battle to become champions. He also admitted the break comes at a frustrating time, as the team has been producing strong results and building momentum.
Even without Ronaldo, "Al-Nassr" had no trouble in their latest outing. Joao Felix scored twice in the victory and raised his season total to 21 goals. Jesus praised the Portuguese forward, saying he has reached numbers he never managed at his previous European clubs. "Al-Nassr" will hope to have Ronaldo and Mane back when they face bottom side "Al-Najma" after the break.
