Trafford set a young goalkeeper record

"Manchester City" goalkeeper James Trafford wrote his name into the League Cup record books after keeping a clean sheet in the final against "Arsenal". "City" won the match 2-0, and Trafford achieved the milestone at the age of 23 years and 163 days.
According to Squawka, Trafford is now the youngest English goalkeeper in the last 48 years to avoid conceding a goal in a League Cup final. His performance played a major role in "Manchester City" lifting the trophy after a composed display against one of their main domestic rivals.
The two sides had already met earlier this season in the fifth round of the Premier League, when the match ended in a 1-1 draw. This time, however, "Manchester City" were far more clinical, while Trafford ensured that "Arsenal" could not find a way back into the game.
Last year, the League Cup was won by "Newcastle", who defeated "Liverpool" 2-1 in the final. Trafford’s latest achievement now adds another notable chapter to the competition’s recent history.
