At the press conference held after the match between Bunyodkor and Andijan (1:3), head coach Islom Ahmedov of the visiting team first answered journalists' questions in detail. The specialist first expressed gratitude to the fans who always support the team, as well as the regional administration and everyone around the club.
He emphasized that serious preparation was made for the game and the opponent's playing style was thoroughly studied. "We knew Bunyodkor well as a team with its own style, led by a capable coach. Therefore, we acted according to the plan, and it can be said that it fully justified itself," said Islom Ahmedov.
During the press conference, the substitution of four players simultaneously after the first half, which surprised many, was also asked about. The coach explained this decision as a tactical necessity. According to him, a heavy load was placed on the front line to pressure the opponent, and signs of fatigue were observed in some players during the first half. Therefore, new forces were brought onto the field in the second half to maintain the game's tempo.
The performance of Martin Boakye, who joined the team during the winter transfer window, was also discussed. The coach emphasized his high potential, noting his superiority in aerial duels. "We are trying to maximize his strengths. He holds the ball well and can attract opposing defenders," the specialist added.
Regarding statistical data related to the opponent, Islom Ahmedov openly stated that he did not attach great importance to this factor. In his opinion, the main focus was on preparation and studying the opponent. It was through this aspect that the team managed to limit the opponent's strengths.
The issue of young players was also discussed. Specifically, questions were asked about the opportunity given to Bekzod Sulaymonov and Xamidullo Karimov, who is the top scorer in the U21 team. The coach expressed confidence in the youth, emphasizing that there are plans to gradually involve them in the main team. "There are many talented players among our youth. They are not in high positions for no reason," he said.
Addressing the psychological importance of the victory, the specialist stated that this result gave the entire team great confidence. He mentioned that after a series of defeats, the players had become discouraged, which is why internal competition and psychological preparation were given special attention during training. "Today's victory gives us even more confidence. We will continue to grow from game to game," he concluded.
It was also stated that there are plans for some players currently playing in the reserve squad – Azimov, Gʻulomov, and Komilov. It was emphasized that all of them are training with the main team and may be given opportunities in the near future.
In short, with this victory, "Andijan" not only secured three points but also significantly improved the team's confidence and atmosphere. Their main task now is to maintain this stability.
