Uzbek boxers shine in semifinals: two advance to the final

The semifinal bouts of the World Boxing Cup are progressing intensely and uncompromisingly. At this stage, our country's boxers performed worthily and pleased fans with impressive results.
In the up to 48 kg weight category, Farzona Fozilova stepped into the ring against Spanish opponent Marta Lopez and demonstrated absolute superiority. At the end of the bout, the judges unanimously recorded our compatriot's victory with a score of 5:0.
In the up to 65 kg weight category, Navbahor Khamidova faced Britain's Sacha Hiscay. In an exciting and tense contest, Khamidova won 3:2 and advanced to the final.
In the over 90 kg category, our representative Jakhongir Zokirov fought experienced opponent David Chaloyan from Armenia. In an uncompromising bout, unfortunately, by judges' decision Chaloyan was declared the winner with a score of 3:2. Thus, Zokirov finished the competition with a bronze medal.
In short, Uzbek boxers showed high skill in the semifinals as well. Now all attention is focused on our athletes who have reached the final — more big victories may lie ahead.
