Gattuso says he is waiting for offers from Russian clubs

Former head coach of the Italian national team, Jennaro Gattuzo, has announced his readiness to continue his career at a new stage. The experienced specialist expressed openness to considering potential offers from Russian Premier League clubs.
In his remarks, Gattuzo emphasized that coaching is his primary profession and stated his willingness to test himself in the Russian championship if a suitable and serious offer arises. In his view, a new environment and new challenges are crucial factors for professional growth.
"I would consider working in Russia. I need an offer to consider. My job is coaching. Therefore, if there is a worthy offer, I am ready to try myself at one of the Russian clubs," - said Gattozo.
The 48-year-old specialist recently stepped down from his position as head coach of the Italian national team. This decision was made following an unsuccessful result against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2026 World Cup qualifying play-offs. Based on the results of two matches, Italy lost to its opponent and missed out on a ticket to the World Cup.
Consequently, the Italian national team has missed the World Cup for the third consecutive time — an outcome being viewed as a serious signal for the country's football.
Now, a new chapter may open for Gattuzo. Whether the Russian championship will become a restart point for him remains to be seen.
In short, Gattuzo has not ended his career — he is seeking a new stage.
