Arteta rates PSG vs Bayern match as the best

Arteta rates PSG vs Bayern match as the highest quality

The Champions League semi-finals are sparking intense discussion in European football. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has shared his thoughts on the recent matches and his team's schedule.

As is known, the London side drew in the first leg of the semi-final away against Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, in the other pairing, PSG defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 at home, providing fans with a true spectacle.

Arteta specifically highlighted that match:
“The PSG vs. Bayern game was, perhaps, one of the best matches I have ever seen. The level of the teams and the individual skill of the players were astonishing. To be honest, we rarely see a game of this quality,” he said.

However, the coach also drew attention to the factors behind this quality. In his view, to display such a high level of football, players must be physically prepared and full of energy. At the same time, there is a significant difference in the workload and playing styles across various leagues.

“The difference between the leagues is huge. Some teams play fewer matches or operate at a different tempo. We are playing under different conditions and different pressure. Therefore, it is not right to directly compare such games,” the Spanish manager added.

Arteta emphasized that the most important issue for his team right now is to focus entirely on the domestic league. He is demanding that his players think only about their next opponent.

“Right now, only one game matters to us — Fulham. The players understand this too: ‘Fulham, then Fulham, and then Fulham again.’ There will be enough time to prepare for the return leg against Atletico,” he said.

As a reminder, Arsenal is currently in a fierce battle for the Premier League title with Manchester City. Meanwhile, the situations of the rival teams differ: Bayern has already secured the championship in Germany, PSG is leading in France, and Atletico has fallen out of the title race in La Liga.

Thus, Arteta’s team is fighting on two fronts, and every decision is of decisive importance. Now the question remains: can Arsenal withstand this pressure? The answer will be revealed on the pitch.
