Napoli has suffered a major blow ahead of their upcoming Serie A match against Bologna. Team leader Kevin De Bruyne has been ruled out of the squad following a collision in training, according to Goal.com reports.
In an interview with DAZN, head coach Antonio Conte provided an update on the Belgian midfielder's injury. According to him, the player suffered a serious facial injury after colliding with a teammate during training.
"There was a clash of heads in training, and he suffered a fractured cheekbone. The doctors had to put in four stitches. Although there is no concussion, he will not be able to play," said Antonio Conte.
Nevertheless, there is positive news for Napoli. Team captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo has returned to the squad and started in the lineup. Antonio Conte emphasized that the captain's return is a significant psychological and tactical advantage for the team.
