These figures create a significant gap when compared to other notable stars in the league. Specifically, former Tottenham star Son Heung-min, who joined LAFC, also earns significantly less than Messi.
Although the Korean forward is among the top five highest-paid players in the league, his annual income is $11.1 million. This means Lionel Messi's salary is more than double his earnings.
