Barcelona looking for a striker: Joao Pedro emerges as alternative to Julian Alvarez

FC Barcelona is looking for a new forward to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window. Although Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez was initially seen as the primary target, the Catalans have decided to consider alternative options due to the complexity of that deal, according to Goal.com reports.
According to Spanish publications Mundo Deportivo and Sport, Barcelona sporting director Deco is showing serious interest in Chelsea forward Joao Pedro. The club's management considers him a much cheaper and more accessible option compared to Julian Alvarez.
However, this transfer is unlikely to be straightforward. According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, Chelsea has no intention of letting their leading goalscorer go easily. The London club is demanding around 100 million euros, while Barcelona is looking to limit their offer to around 70 million euros.
Deco has arrived in London to assess the situation and initiate negotiations. He plans to meet with Chelsea's management to clarify the transfer terms. For now, the financial gap between the parties remains the main obstacle to reaching an agreement.
