Why did Mikel Arteta not attend the Arsenal title celebration?

Arsenal have finally won the Premier League title after a 22-year wait. Manchester City dropping points against Bournemouth secured the London club's early championship. While the players and coaching staff celebrated wildly at the London Colney base, the architect of this success, Mikel Arteta, was not seen there. This is reported by Goal.com reports .

The 1-1 draw between Manchester City and Bournemouth mathematically ended the hopes of Pep Guardiola's side to keep the title race alive until the final matchday. Arsenal members watched the game at Vitality Stadium from their training base and began the festivities as soon as the final whistle blew. Club legend Ian Wright also celebrated the long-awaited title since the 2003-04 season with thousands of fans in North London.

Mikel Arteta, the mastermind behind the club's transformation, did not participate in the initial celebrations at the base. Although stars like Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Jurrien Timber partied late into the night, the Spanish manager preferred to spend this historic moment away from the cameras. Arteta had previously stated that he would watch the game at home with his family.

Arteta explained his decision: "I don't know how much of the game I will watch, but I will be in front of the TV. I haven't planned to be with the players and staff; I want to spend this time with my family." Even though he was not physically at the base, Arteta's reputation at Emirates Stadium is now untouchable.

With this victory, Mikel Arteta became the first person in Arsenal history to win the title as both a player and a manager. At 44 years and 54 days old, he became the youngest Gunners manager to win the league, breaking George Graham's record. In Premier League history, only Jose Mourinho has won the title at a younger age (42).
