The Londoners started the game very actively. In the 6th minute, Arsenal striker Kai Havertz found the net to put his team ahead. After that goal, PSG increased the pressure and managed to equalize in the second half. In the 65th minute, Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty to score a crucial goal for the Parisians.
With no winner determined in regular time, the fate of the final came down to a penalty shootout. PSG players remained cooler under pressure, winning 4-3. Luis Enrique's team thus repeated their success from last season, winning the Champions League trophy for the second time in their history.
This victory is of historical significance for PSG. The Paris club made history as the first team to win consecutive titles in the new Champions League format. Although Arsenal put up a worthy fight in the final, luck was on PSG's side in the decisive moments.
