Seven-goal thriller in Namangan: Navbahor snatch victory in the 89th minute

The 17th round of the Super League delivered a genuine football thriller in Namangan. Despite twice surrendering their lead, Navbahor beat Bunyodkor 4-3 thanks to an 89th-minute penalty.
In a match featuring seven goals, Husayn Norchayev also got his name on the scoresheet again. The victory lifted the Falcons to third place in the league table.
Navbahor went 2-0 up after just 19 minutes
The hosts made a very lively start. In the fifth minute, Muhammadali G‘iyosov opened the scoring and sent the Namangan stands into celebration — 1-0.
Fourteen minutes later, Navbahor won a penalty. From the spot, Husayn Norchayev made no mistake to double the advantage — 2-0.
At that stage, the hosts appeared to have taken complete control of the match. But Bunyodkor refused to surrender.
Bunyodkor twice levelled the score
In the 38th minute, Sardor Abdunabiyev brought the visitors back into the game — 2-1.
Soon after the restart, Dmitriy Pletnyov equalised in the 52nd minute. Navbahor’s two-goal lead had disappeared — 2-2.
In the 63rd minute, Diyor Xolmatov put the Namangan side back in front — 3-2. However, Bunyodkor again had an answer.
In the 70th minute, Faxriddin Muhammadov scored to restore parity on the scoreboard — 3-3.
Jiyanov delivered the decisive blow
The match looked set to end in a draw. But with one minute of regulation time remaining, Navbahor won another penalty.
In the 89th minute, Ruslanbek Jiyanov took responsibility and converted the spot-kick.
4-3 — Navbahor snatched all three points in a dramatic encounter.
The visitors had virtually no time left to respond.

Navbahor break into the top three
Following the victory, Navbahor increased their points tally to 31 and climbed to third place.
Bunyodkor, meanwhile, left Namangan without a point despite twice equalising. The Tashkent side are on 19 points and sit in 11th place .
For Navbahor, this was more than just another victory. Although the team squandered a two-goal lead and allowed their opponents to equalise twice, they showed character in the closing minutes and held on to three important points.
The 4-3 in Namangan proved to be one of the most entertaining matches of the Super League’s 17th round.
