China May Pull TikTok from the US Market Instead of Selling It
The Washington Post reports that ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, is deliberately slowing down negotiations on selling the platform. This move comes as the company awaits approval from the Chinese government amid new US tariffs on Chinese imports.

According to sources, Beijing would rather let TikTok leave the US market than approve its sale, as it aims for better trade negotiation terms with Washington.

On February 1, Donald Trump signed an order imposing a 10% tariff on Chinese goods. In response, China will impose tariffs on US energy imports starting February 10.

Russian lawmaker Dmitry Belik warned that the US-China trade war could destabilize the global economy.
