TikTok now allows booking travel directly within the app

TikTok has launched TikTok GO, a service that allows users to search for and book hotels, attractions, and various services directly within the app. Currently available to users over 18 in the US, this feature helps find travel destinations through videos, search, and location pages. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The new service was launched in partnership with major platforms such as Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Trip.com. Content creators can add booking links to their videos, earning commissions and revenue through special campaigns.
TikTok GO is part of the platform's strategy to keep users within the app longer. Much like TikTok Shop, launched in 2023, this innovation encourages users to complete all processes without navigating to external sites.
This move strengthens TikTok's competition with Google. As many users turn to TikTok instead of Google for search, the company's entry into the travel market could significantly impact Google Maps and search services.
According to Adam Presser, Head of Operations at TikTok USDS Joint Venture, TikTok GO directly connects the moment of inspiration with business. This opens new doors for content creators, local businesses, and the entire community.
