Due to new European Union regulations, Apple devices may soon work more seamlessly with Samsung products, reports Pepelac News. The EU has demanded that Apple open access to services like AirPlay, AirDrop, and NFC for other manufacturers.
Apple’s ecosystem has traditionally been closed, working exclusively within its own devices. However, the EU now requires Apple to integrate with other brands, including allowing access to notification systems, background processes, and network functionalities.
According to EU plans, Apple must fully implement these changes by 2026. This could significantly impact the European market, improving the interoperability of Apple and Samsung devices.
Apple, however, has expressed concerns that these changes might slow down innovation and pose risks to security and user privacy.
