Apple is facing difficulties in implementing blood pressure monitoring in its Apple Watch, Pepelac.news reported, citing the latest Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman.
The company has been working on this feature since January 2022 but has yet to successfully integrate it into the device. According to Gurman, the initial version did not provide accurate data, prompting Apple to work on a more advanced version.
The feature was originally expected to debut in Apple Watch Series 10, but that did not happen. Gurman reported that it would track blood pressure trends and notify users when signs of hypertension are detected, encouraging them to consult a medical professional.
In December 2024, Gurman noted that Apple had ramped up efforts to develop the feature, aiming for a 2025 release. However, based on the latest updates, even that timeline now seems unlikely.
