China’s DeepSeek surpasses ChatGPT in new traffic

Chinese startup DeepSeek became the world’s fastest-growing AI tool with 524.7 million new visits in February 2025 — surpassing ChatGPT (500 million), ixbt.com reported.

Despite the rapid growth, DeepSeek remains the third largest AI tool behind ChatGPT and Canva. Its market share rose from 2.34% to 6.58% during February.

The DeepSeek chatbot recorded 792.6 million visits and 136.5 million unique users. India ranked fourth in traffic sources with 43.36 million monthly visits.
