Germany has begun developing revolutionary drone technology in the military sector

A new stage has begun in Germany’s defense industry — the country has launched a large-scale billion-dollar competition for the development of autonomous “kamikaze” drones capable of delivering deep strikes and accurately hitting targets without direct operator involvement, German mass media reported.

Such modern unmanned aerial vehicles will be able to cover thousands of kilometers, independently destroy enemy defenses, and quickly reach their targets. These systems are expected to complement conventional ballistic and cruise missiles and significantly expand the Bundeswehr’s capabilities for strategic deep-strike operations.

According to reports, the federal government has already sent a list of technical requirements to Germany’s leading defense corporations and innovative startups. Within the framework of the project, several company consortia are competing.

At the initial stage, at least three consortia will participate, and the first prototype drones are expected to be delivered by 2029. This could significantly enhance Germany’s defense capabilities and make the country a leader in unmanned technology in Europe.

Experts and military analysts emphasize that the new drone system will provide the German army with a strategic advantage and play a decisive role in strengthening national security. In the coming years, the development and practical results of the project are being closely watched.
