Microsoft services disrupted
Microsoft reported that delays occurred in Azure (cloud computing platform) services due to damage to undersea cables in the Red Sea. The problem mainly affected internet connections passing through the Middle East.

The company did not specify how the cables were damaged. However, it stated that it was working to restore services by rerouting traffic through alternative paths.

Internet monitors reported that outages were also felt in India, Pakistan, and some Asian countries. Pakistani authorities said the cable was cut near Jeddah and warned that problems could occur during peak hours.

According to experts, undersea cables are considered the backbone of the internet. They can be damaged by natural causes or technical errors, and in some cases, deliberate attacks have also been recorded.
