Mozilla is introducing a new feature in its Firefox browser — the ability to create profiles. This feature allows users to create a separate internet environment for work, personal life, or other activities, according to the Rozetked.me website.
Previously, Firefox could separate site history and cookie data using the "Containers" extension. For example, it allowed logging into the same social network with different accounts simultaneously.
Now, profiles allow you to create a separate browser window for each activity. Each profile can have its own avatar, color, and themes — making it easier to distinguish between profiles.
Each profile stores its own cookies and browsing history data, and they are not shared with other profiles.
The Verge notes that the profiles feature in Firefox is similar to the one in Chrome, but does not require creating multiple email accounts.
Mozilla representatives emphasize:
“By clearly separating your different roles on the internet, you save brain energy and avoid unexpected situations — for example, a vacation plan showing up in a work presentation.”
