Pixel 11 Pro Fold keeps old format

While Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Oppo push their foldable phones toward a more tablet-like shape, Google plans to keep the familiar narrow fold format for its next model. Reports Wylsa.com.

Leaked CAD files shared by insider Steve McFly, known as OnLeaks, show that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will look very similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This means buyers might not even notice they have the newer device in their hands.

The main visible change is the camera module, which no longer sticks out as a solid square but now smoothly rises from the body. The microphone and flash have been moved into one of the raised pill-shaped elements on the camera bar. The phone will also be slightly thinner, measuring 10.8 mm when folded and 5.2 mm when opened.

The device is expected to arrive in August. Pricing remains unclear as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold launched at 1800 dollars but was later cut to 1500 dollars due to weak demand. With memory chip shortages affecting the industry, Google may raise the starting price. Samsung and Motorola already charge over 2000 dollars for their foldables, so the company could follow their lead.
