Meta and Amazon Deal Expected to Strike at Nvidia Dominance

Meta Corporation has signed an agreement to use millions of Amazon's proprietary processors to develop its artificial intelligence systems. Under this deal, AWS Graviton chips will be directed toward performing complex tasks for AI agents. This move indicates a growing demand in the technology world for central processing units (CPUs) over graphics processing units (GPUs). Techcrunch.com reports on this.
Graviton chips are specifically designed for processes requiring computational power, such as real-time inference, coding, and search. This partnership will serve to direct Meta's funds more toward the AWS ecosystem rather than competitors like Google Cloud. Previously, a $10 billion agreement had been signed between Meta and Google.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, in his letter to shareholders, emphasized that enterprises are seeking an optimal price-performance ratio in the field of artificial intelligence. The company aims to compete with Nvidia and Intel in this direction. Currently, Amazon is actively developing not only processors but also Trainium chips designed for AI training.
