Russia's MS-21 aircraft to receive certification in 2027

Russia's state corporation Rostec plans to complete the certification process for the MS-21 medium-haul passenger aircraft in the first quarter of 2027. According to the corporation's head, Sergey Chemezov, mass production of the airliner will begin after this stage. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
According to production plans, by 2030, the goal is to manufacture 36 MS-21, 20 Superjet, and 12 Il-114 aircraft annually. This aims to gradually increase production rates within the framework of Russian civil aviation programs.
The MS-21 is a new-generation aircraft primarily designed to replace foreign airliners such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, as well as outdated domestic models. Developed by the Yakovlev company, the base version of this aircraft can accommodate 211 passengers.
40 percent of the aircraft's structure consists of composite materials, and it is equipped with Russian-made PD-14 engines. Experts believe this project is a significant step toward ensuring the technological independence of the Russian aviation industry.
