Google launches AI-powered healthcare service

Google has announced that it is rebranding its Fitbit app to Google Health and introducing a new AI-powered health coach service. This innovation becomes a key part of the company's fitness strategy following its 2021 acquisition of Fitbit. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

The new Google Health Coach service uses Gemini AI technology to provide personalized recommendations to users. It acts as a fitness coach, sleep expert, and health advisor. Users receive a customized program by entering information about their goals, daily routine, and physical condition.

The service will be available starting May 19 as part of the Google Health Premium subscription. The subscription costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year, while Google AI Pro and Ultra users can access the service at no additional cost.

In addition to analyzing workouts, nutrition, and sleep quality, the Google Health Coach program can communicate with the user in natural language. Initially, the service will be available to Fitbit and Pixel Watch users, with plans to support other devices later.
