Google unveils new Googlebooks and AI features at Android Show

At the virtual “Android Show: I/O Edition” event held on Tuesday, Google showcased its latest developments and upcoming updates for the Android ecosystem. The main focus was on expanding Gemini AI capabilities, a new line of Googlebooks laptops, and “vibe-coded” widgets for Android users. This was reported by Techcrunch.com .

Google, in collaboration with partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, introduced a new line of Gemini-powered Googlebooks laptops. Expected to hit the market in the fall, these devices feature “Magic Pointer” cursor technology, ensuring seamless integration with Android smartphones. Users will be able to control apps from their phones directly on the laptop screen.

Additionally, the “Create My Widget” feature allows users to generate personalized widgets using natural language. This innovation will first be implemented on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel smartphones. For example, a user can request specific recipes or information and place them on the home screen as a widget.

Android Auto has also been updated with more personalization options and new widgets. The flexible interface for car displays and the redesigned layout of media apps like YouTube Music and Spotify provide drivers with greater convenience on the road.
