Verizon estimates that satellite internet services like Starlink and Amazon Leo could reach up to 5 million subscribers in the U.S. within the next 10 years. However, according to New Street Research, Starlink is already showing rapid growth: in 2025, the company's global user base doubled, reaching 2.7 million subscribers in the U.S. alone. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Nevertheless, Verizon's leadership remains calm. CEO Dan Schulman emphasized that satellite internet is not a full alternative to terrestrial networks, but rather a complementary service. According to him, the bulk of operators' revenue comes from urban and suburban areas where satellite technology cannot yet compete with traditional infrastructure.

Meanwhile, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have reached an agreement to form a joint venture aimed at improving connectivity across the U.S., particularly in rural and underserved areas. SpaceX is working on new-generation stations that will significantly increase Starlink speeds.

Currently, Starlink serves over 10 million active users in more than 160 countries. According to SpaceX supplier forecasts, the number of satellite internet users is expected to exceed 100 million in two years and 200 million in four years.
