Intel Core 5 320 processor outperforms Apple A18 Pro by 27 percent

Intel has introduced its new Core i5 320 processor, designed for budget laptops within the Wildcat Lake series. Independent tests on the PassMark platform suggest that this chip will be one of the most competitive in its segment, achieving a score of 15,222 in multi-threaded tests, which is 27% higher than Apple's A18 Pro chip used in the MacBook Neo. The processor features a six-core configuration, with two cores focused on high performance and the others on energy efficiency. The new Intel chips are expected to compete directly with the MacBook Neo in the affordable laptop market, with the first models set to be showcased at the Computex 2026 exhibition in a month.

Devices in the Wildcat Lake series are intended to compete with the MacBook Neo in the affordable laptop market. While Apple laptops are currently available for sale, the presentation of the first production models featuring the new Intel chips is scheduled to take place in one month at the Computex 2026 exhibition.
