Amazon adds OpenAI models to AWS platform

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has integrated OpenAI models into its platform following the conclusion of exclusive rights between OpenAI and its primary investor, Microsoft. This move includes the launch of new agent services and is seen as a significant development by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy. The partnership aims to eliminate previous barriers to collaboration between OpenAI and AWS, with new offerings like Bedrock Managed Agents designed to utilize OpenAI's logical reasoning models. This shift comes amid a cooling relationship between Microsoft and OpenAI, as OpenAI explores partnerships with AWS and Oracle.
Immediately after OpenAI agreed to terminate exclusive rights with its primary investor Microsoft, Amazon launched new capabilities. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform announced a series of offerings including OpenAI models and new agent services. Techcrunch.com reports on this.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy called the agreement "very exciting news." This change has removed barriers for OpenAI to collaborate with AWS.

Earlier, a major contract worth up to $50 billion was signed between Amazon and OpenAI.
The Bedrock service within AWS will now offer OpenAI's latest models, the Codex code-writing service, and a new product for creating artificial intelligence agents. The new service, named Bedrock Managed Agents, is specifically designed to utilize OpenAI's reasoning models.
Amazon noted on its blog that this step marks the beginning of a deeper partnership between AWS and OpenAI. Recently, a cooling of relations between Microsoft and OpenAI has been observed.
OpenAI is now working with AWS and Oracle, while Microsoft is strengthening its partnership with Anthropic.
