Kursk NPP-2 has begun supplying ten billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually

The Kursk AES-2 nuclear power plant, featuring a VVER-TOI reactor, officially began supplying electricity to consumers within Russia's unified energy system on April 27. Governor Alexander Khinshtein described this event as historic, highlighting the introduction of a new generation of electricity to the market. The energy block is expected to generate nearly 10 billion kWh annually, contributing over 10 billion rubles to the Russian budget each year. Additionally, "Rosatom" has plans to construct three more similar energy blocks in the coming years.
The first power unit of the Kursk NPP-2, equipped with a VVER-TOI reactor and commissioned on April 27, has officially begun supplying electricity to consumers within Russia's unified energy system. Kursk Region Governor Aleksandr Khinshteyn called this event historic and emphasized that a new generation of power generation has entered the market. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.
According to the governor, the operation of the power unit will provide more than 10 billion rubles in tax revenue to the Russian budget annually. The unit's annual production capacity is expected to reach approximately 10 billion kWh.
According to Rosatom, the Kursk NPP-2 will not be limited to a single power unit. Plans are in place to construct three additional units of the same type at the site in the coming years.
