Mirziyoyev and Tokayev hold informal meeting in Almaty, Nova24.uz reported. On March 29, 2025, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held an informal meeting in the city of Almaty.

The meeting took place in a traditionally friendly and businesslike atmosphere. The two leaders discussed strengthening good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership, and alliance between their countries.

They also congratulated each other and their nations on the spring holiday of Navruz and the upcoming Ramadan Eid.

The current high level of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was especially noted. Active contacts are maintained at all levels, trade turnover has increased by 14% since the beginning of the year, and the investment portfolio exceeds $4 billion. Interregional ties and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are also expanding.

Deputy prime ministers of both countries reported on measures to boost mutual trade and promote joint projects in engineering, electrical, oil and gas, textile, agricultural, and other priority sectors.

The presidents gave concrete instructions to develop a long-term industrial cooperation program and to accelerate regional infrastructure projects. The importance of launching the International Center for Industrial Cooperation this year and expanding the operations of the joint foreign trade company was emphasized.

They also exchanged views on the regional agenda, including preparations for upcoming Central Asian summits to be held in Uzbekistan. The schedule of future bilateral and multilateral events was reviewed.

According to the press service, the meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
