
In the Kukdala district of Qashqadaryo region, the first watermelons have started to ripen, the district administration's press service reports, nova24.uz writes.
Farmer Solikh Jumanazarov said that the harvest was grown on an experimental basis and is currently available in small quantities. The main harvest will be ready for market in about 15 days.
It is noted that this year’s melons ripened earlier than usual. The previous record for the earliest harvest was April 17. This season, watermelons have been planted on over 20,000 hectares in the district.
