From April 13 to 18, prolonged and intense rainfall is expected in Uzbekistan’s foothill and mountain regions, Kursiv.media reported.
According to UzHydromet, there is a risk of mudflows and floods during this period, especially in areas with rugged terrain.
The most affected will be certain districts of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions. Tourist hotspots such as Shahrisabz, Urgut, Almalyk, Angren, and Khanabad are also under threat.
Experts warn that the heavy rains may cause water accumulation, leading to road flooding, inundation of settlements, and agricultural damage. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
