Another important step has been taken in ensuring legality and justice in our country, combating economic crimes - in accordance with the relevant decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Senior Advisor to the President of Justice Jahongir Juraevich Hotamov has been appointed Deputy Prosecutor General - Head of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.
Jahongir Hotamov has been working as Deputy Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan for the past two years, and to date has faithfully performed various responsible tasks in the law enforcement system of our country. In 2016-2017, he worked as the First Deputy Prosecutor of the Jizzakh region, and in 2017-2018, he worked as the First Deputy Prosecutor of the Tashkent city. From February 2018 to October 2020, he worked as the Prosecutor of the Khorezm region, and in 2020-2022, he worked as the Prosecutor of the Namangan region. From February 2022 to August 2023, he served as the prosecutor of the Samarkand region.
According to information, Shamsiddin Sohibnazarov has been heading the Department for Combating Economic Crimes since October 2023. In early 2024, the department's activities were further strengthened, and its head was appointed to simultaneously serve as deputy prosecutor general. In April, there were reports that Sohibnazarov had been dismissed, but this information was not confirmed by official sources.
Jahongir Khotamov's new appointment is expected to be an important step in ensuring legality and strengthening economic security in our country.
