School buses to be launched in Tashkent to reduce traffic congestion

In the near future, Tashkent may introduce a school bus system to transport children to and from schools, aiming to reduce road congestion. According to officials, this initiative could significantly ease the city’s transportation system.

Observations show that traffic in the capital becomes noticeably lighter after the school year ends. The main reason is that parents no longer drive their children to school in private cars, reducing the flow of vehicles. Implementing school buses could maintain this reduced congestion year-round.

It is noted that a single bus can carry 20–30 students at a time. This would remove the same number of private cars from the roads, helping to decrease traffic jams and reduce emissions. The buses will be equipped to meet road safety requirements.

Discussions with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education are planned regarding this matter. If implemented, the project could bring significant strategic changes to the capital’s public transport system.
