The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is expected to make a trip to Europe next month. According to official information, the head of state will be in the Belgian capital, Brussels, on October 24. This was noted in a congratulatory letter sent by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the information, during the visit it is expected that an important document will be signed — the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation, which will mark a new stage in relations between the European Union and Uzbekistan.
Antonio Costa stated in his letter:
“I look forward to our meeting on October 24, 2025, in Brussels. There we will have the opportunity to further deepen the cooperation between the European Union and Uzbekistan.”
In addition, the head of the European Council also referred to the first “European Union – Central Asia” summit held in Samarkand in April of this year. He emphasized that during that visit he felt the sincerity and hospitality characteristic of the Uzbek people, and that the event left him with vivid memories.
Thus, the October meeting in Brussels is assessed as an important event, expected not only as a political dialogue, but also as one that will open a new page in the relations between Europe and Uzbekistan.
