According to the National Statistics Committee, as of August 2025, the cost of preparing 1 kilogram of plov in the regions of the country has been calculated. These indicators show how much pilaf, as a traditional dish, can cost in each region.
According to the data, the cheapest plov is prepared in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (98,600 soums), while the highest cost was recorded in Tashkent - 117,400 soums. In other regions, the indicators were formed as follows:
- Andijan region - 105,500 soums,
- Bukhara region - 108,400 soums,
- Jizzakh region - 110,000 soums,
- Kashkadarya region - 111,700 soums,
- Navoi region - 110,000 soums,
- Namangan region - 109,400 soums,
- Samarkand region - 113,400 soums,
- Surkhandarya region - 111,500 soums,
- Syrdarya region - 105,700 soums,
- Tashkent region - 113,600 soums,
- Fergana region - 115,000 soums,
- Khorezm region - 107,000 soums.
Thus, it can be seen that the cost of preparing plov varies from region to region.
The quantity of basic products for the preparation of one kilogram of plov is determined as follows:
- sunflower oil - 0.3 liters,
- onions - 300 grams,
- beef - 700 grams,
- carrots - 1 kilogram,
- rice - 1 kilogram,
- peas - 100 grams,
- cumin - 10 grams,
table salt - 20 grams.
It is noted that the above figures are not the price of ready-made plov sold in the markets. They include not only the products themselves, but also the costs of the cooking process, service costs, and additional processing.
Plov is a dish that has become a symbol of the national cuisine of Uzbekistan, and the cost of its preparation also arouses great interest in society. It is natural that the economic conditions of each region, the prices of products and the costs of services affect the total cost.
