In Uzbekistan, a new law aimed at strengthening transport safety and protecting the lives of passengers has been adopted. According to the document approved at the next plenary session of the Senate, from now on, officials who violate passenger transportation rules on railways and in the metro will be held strictly accountable.
According to the new procedure, if such cases are detected, the official who violated the rules will pay a fine equal to 10 times the BCU (Base Calculation Unit). Officials note that this measure is intended not only to strengthen discipline but also to create safe and convenient conditions for passengers.
In addition, violations of work and rest schedules by drivers working on international and intercity routes are also taken under special control. If such violations are found, drivers will be fined in the amount of 7 times the BCU.
According to experts, the introduction of a strict accountability system in the transport sector will strengthen discipline and ensure passenger safety. At the same time, such measures will increase trust in public transport.
As senators emphasized, once the law comes into force, the responsibility of carriers and drivers will increase even more. This is considered an important step towards improving the quality and safety of transport services in the country.
