The Youth Affairs Agency has established a Fund to Support Green Initiatives, Podrobno.uz reported. Up to 10 billion soums will be allocated for its activities every year.
The fund's resources will be directed towards environmental protection, waste recycling, development of renewable energy sources, introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, landscaping, forest restoration, and development of ecotourism.
According to the agency, young people will have the opportunity to receive financial support to implement their ideas — combating climate change, creating eco-video clips, media platforms, and mobile applications aimed at reducing energy consumption.
It is also planned to organize contests and campaigns on energy efficiency in order to involve young people in solving environmental problems and to foster a culture of careful attitude toward the environment.
