President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand on October 30 to participate in the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
According to tradition, the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari was visited first. The Quran was recited and prayers were offered.

The President familiarized himself with the latest finishing works in the complex and the ongoing landscaping processes in the area.
At the initiative of the head of state, this complex was rebuilt in accordance with Imam Bukhari's high status and great potential in the Islamic world. Conditions have been created for pilgrims.

The territory of the complex has been expanded, and its total area has now reached 44 hectares. A magnificent mausoleum, a mosque for 10,000 people, an administrative building, a museum, and entrance and exit porches have been completed. The 75-meter minarets at the four corners of the shrine give it grandeur.

The new museum will showcase the life and scientific heritage of Imam Bukhari, recognized as the sultan of hadith scholars in the Islamic world, and his contribution to the development of Islamic enlightenment. The museum also houses information about the history of 25 prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran, the genealogy of Muhammad (peace be upon him), his life in Mecca and Medina, and the compilation and writing of hadiths.

Construction of hotels and other service buildings around the shrine is also in its final stage. One four-star, two three-star, and 22 family home hotels have been established.

The Head of State gave instructions on the high-quality organization of public activities, the expansion of amenities for people, and the expansion of green spaces.
With good intentions, tree saplings were planted on the territory of the complex.
