President Mirziyoyev concludes visit to Qatar and departs for Washington

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has completed his working visit to Qatar and departed for the United States, the Presidential Press Service reported.

In Doha, the head of state took part in the Second World Summit on Social Development, where he put forward several initiatives aimed at strengthening sustainable social progress and global partnership. He also held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

At Sheikh Hamad International Airport, the President was seen off by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other officials.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is heading to Washington to take part in the “C5+1” summit at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

During the visit, meetings are scheduled with the U.S. President, members of Congress, and heads of ministries and departments. The discussions will focus on expanding trade, investment, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as deepening interregional ties between Central Asia and the United States.

As part of the business program, meetings with heads of leading American companies and financial institutions are also planned. Following the visit, a number of bilateral and multilateral documents are expected to be signed.
